Beamer ohana has string of birthdays in December

I called Marmie Kaaihue's cell phone Monday about transportation she was arranging for her cousin Sonny Beamer's 80th birthday party at Lanikuhonua Dec. 23. I was surprised when she answered and said she was in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget, celebrating the 77th birthday of Sonny's brother, Mahi Beamer, the well-known singer-pianist. Taking part in the fun were Mahi's sister, Sunbeam Beamer of Palm Springs, who turns 78 tomorrow; his cousin, "Uncle" Keola Beamer; another cousin, Gay Beamer; Naideen Nagle; Ralph and Lori Ah Sam; Bobbie and Laverne Carrell, and Nalani Kele and her husband, Jesse Jones. Mahi and Sunbeam were in Nalani's Vegas show years ago. Marmie said the next stop for some of them would be Palm Springs for Sunbeam's party. Then it's back home for Sonny's soiree. And there is more, Miki Beamer, Sonny's wife, marked her 75th Monday ...

Charlie "Giddyup" Beeck Jr., president of Tropical Roofing and Raingutters, knows plenty about roofs and raingutters and he also knows how to throw a swell dinner party. He took over Duc's Bistro last Saturday night and tossed his annual dinner bash for associates and suppliers.
