The adage "Great things come in small packages" aptly applies to Cedar Street Galleries' "Matchbox Plus" miniatures exhibition. The gallery boasts a fabulous collection of pieces in this show, by a who's who list of 60 of the islands' most respected artists.

The exhibit features everything from the whimsical ceramic sculptures of Rochelle Lum and the edgy paintings of Jason Teraoka to elegant prints by Nancy Vilhauer and acrylic abstracts by Mary Mitsuda. There's even a fun section that displays adults-only pieces by Noelani Block, Chuck Davis, Koi Ozu and others.

"Matchbox Plus" runs through Dec. 2 at Cedar Street Galleries, 817 Cedar St. (The gallery is nestled among the side streets on the block between Piikoi and Keeaumoku streets and King Street and Kapiolani Boulevard.)

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
