Waianae 10-year-old a Lego champ
Ten-year-old Imagine Rigney of Waianae is one of five finalists competing in a LEGO build-off tomorrow at Legoland in Carlsbad, Calif.
Imagine is competing for a $5,000 scholarship in the LEGO Brick to the Future: 2055 Building Challenge, chosen as a finalist out of hundreds of entries nationwide and in Canada.
Imagine's entry showed wind turbines on Pu'u O Hulu Kai mountain, with a foreground of solar-paneled roofs.
LEGO Group and the National Trust for Historic Preservation challenged children ages 5 to 14 to build a town center, circa 2055.
