Kapiolani Park hosts the annual Hispanic Heritage Festival

The Hawaii Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Center of Hawaii hosted the 12th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival Saturday at the Kapiolani Park bandstand. Among the performers was Stanton Haugen, playing his trumpet with the band Mariachi Loco.

Jessica Salazar from Ballet Folklorico Quetzal danced a Hispanic folk dance. This year's festival celebrated a theme of "Hispanic Americans: Strong and Colorful Threads in the American Fabric."

Not everyone was taking in the entertainment, food and other activities. Christopher Dias hid under his umbrella and enjoyed a nap.

The audience was treated to salsa dance lessons as they watched and tried to follow Jerome Ramos on stage.
