The Japan-America Society of Hawaii hosted a Japan Day yesterday at Hawaii Tokai International College for students from Kailua High School, St. Francis School and Iolani School. The half-day Japanese cultural program started off with taiko performance and continued with bon dance, bonsai, calligraphy, crafts, ikebana, kimono, soroban and tea ceremony classes. Dancing to Pokimon ondo, volunteer Alice Morioka led high school students through some bon dance movements yesterday.
