Yoga for You
Ray Madigan & Shelley Choy

Bound finger pose

This pose relieves stiffness in the fingers, wrists, arms and shoulders. It stretches the spine and brings a feeling of lightness and energy. It's particularly helpful in reducing tension accumulated in repetitive activities such as word processing or other keyboard associated actions:

» Sit evenly on chair with thighs slightly apart and feet parallel.
» Interlock fingers up to webbing of the hands.
» Straighten the arms to the front of you with the palms pointing away, thumb side down.
» Take the arms overhead, upper arms in line with the ears.
» Work to fully straighten the arms and turn the palms to face the ceiling.
» Breathe evenly and smoothly relaxing the facial muscles as you grow in height.
» Repeat, changing the interlock.
