A touch of Hawaii
is added to unusual
California wedding

Cathy Goo Toda of Maui Lavender was the matron of honor at the California wedding of actress-screenwriter Lydia Look and Jen Kuo Sung Outerbridge Aug. 27. The wedding will be shown on Discovery's "Monster House" Oct. 3. The groom is a stuntman working on Johnny Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean." Temuera Morrison of "Once Were Warriors" and Larry Sung both were best men. This was not your normal California wedding. It was a Balinese-type wedding and the "Monster House" crew built a Balinese garden in the back yard of the wedding couple's home in Van Nuys, Calif., where the nuptials took place. "Monster House" host Steve Watson was ordained as a minister shortly before the wedding so he could conduct the ceremony. The bride's party wore swimsuits and sarongs and the groom's party wore sarongs. Maui's Tamara Catz Boutique provided the swimsuits and sarongs. Cathy provided favors and leis. Hawaii singer-musician Justin Young performed. Hollywood's Julia Nixon, Sandra Oh, Michael Gross and Tsai Chin attended ...

Don Ho is back to work at the Beachcomber on his usual Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday schedule after being sidelined with illness. His daughter, Hoku, will appear with him tomorrow and Tuesday, maybe longer. Healthwise, Don must be doing fine because Wednesday he was at home cutting plywood to board up the windows of his home in case hurricanes come our way ... $8 million necklace highlights Bvlgari opening

Bvlgari held the grand opening of its luxury jewelry store in Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center Thursday. The highlight was the display of a $8 million emerald and diamond necklace. Jany Cataldo, who designs jewelry, tried it on and didn't want to take it off. Three of the company's top U.S. execs -- Francois Kress, Benny Tabatai and Emily Lin -- flew in from New York for the event and stayed at the Halekulani. Hawaii Bvlgari boss is John Taitano. Fancy L'Uraku pupus were served with wine, champagne and sake martini's. A DJ did his thing in a rear area of the store. It was quite a blast ...
