» Accessories are the quickest way to update any wardrobe, and Neiman Marcus will be showcasing new looks in shoes, boots, sunglasses and jewelry through "The Accessories Event," today through Saturday on Level One.

Minimalism is out and maximization is in, with long necklaces, embroidery, beading, velvet, fur and metallic leathers making a big impact.

» Macy's Ala Moana invites all shoe divas to its "Shoe Diva Event" and "Sexy Shoe Contest" taking place 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6 in Women's Shoes, Level 2. On view will be the newest designs from such leading shoe designers as Stuart Weitzman, Charles David, Coach and Cole Haan.

Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and sip champagne by Sofia Coppola while trying on dream shoes. Those spending $250 or more will receive a $50 Macy's gift card and gift bag.

The event is free, but those who want to enter the 6 p.m. "Sexy Shoe Contest" must RSVP at 945-6427. The diva deemed to be wearing the sexiest footwear will win a choice of designer shoes up to $200 in value.
