Sam Choy's Diamond Head: The restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary with a benefit dinner supporting the Emeril Lagasse Employee Disaster Relief Fund, 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $150 and all proceeds will go to the support of employees from Lagasse's three restaurants in New Orleans. Call 732-8645.

Tides of Hope: 21-and-over party featuring the band Malcognitas, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross and matched by GAP. 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at thirtyninehotel.

SATURDAY

"Operation Ohana: Oceans Apart, United by Heart": East-West Center students from 49 countries host program of cultural music and dance, family activities, lei-making, silent auction and food, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at EWC Friendship Circle, between John Burns Hall and Hale Manoa dormitory. UH Jazz Band and slack-key guitarist Jeff Peterson will perform. Admission is free; proceeds from activities and sales will go to several charities.

E&O Trading Co: 10 percent of day's proceeds will go to Share Our Strength's Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, as part of "Dine Out for the Big Easy" nationwide campaign organized under Restaurants for Relief. Call 591-9555.
