The band's contract with promoter Marek Lieberberg also guarantees a third concert if the first two sell out.
The 95/5 percent split between band and promoter is common for the Eagles, sources say. Locally, the more common split is 90 percent to the band, 10 percent to the promoter.
Lieberberg, who is based in Germany, could not be reached for comment yesterday. His local spokeswoman, Elissa Josephsohn, was attempting reach him. Lieberberg has previously brought Celine Deon and Ricky Martin to Hawaii.
The $250 price considerably raises the bar on rock tickets locally. The Who concert last year was the previous price leader at $95, although operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti did earn a top ticket in excess of $250 more than a decade ago.
The highest-price Eagles ticket outside Hawaii was $175.
In the first six months of this year, the Eagles were the top-grossing concert act, pulling in $76.7 million. According to Billboard, the band ranked third in average ticket prices at $99.49 -- behind Dion ($136.70) and Elton John ($111.34).
Prices for the Nov. 29 and 30 Blaisdell concerts are $65, $95 and $150, with some 300 seats at $250 for each show out of a total of about 6,800 seats for each show.
When the Eagles first performed in Hawaii in 1974 -- on the same bill at the Waikiki Shell with headliner Linda Ronstadt -- the up-and-coming five-member band received a $6,500 fee. Top ticket price was $6.
In 1996, 21 years and six Hawaii concerts later, the Eagles reunion tour landed at Aloha Stadium, where the top ticket was a record $85. The band received about $500,000 -- reportedly 95 percent of the net.
