Today

Radio-thon: On-air personalities and sales staff from stations in the Pacific Radio Group will collect donations at Starbucks locations on Maui for the American Red Cross Maui Chapter, from 6 to 9 a.m.

O Lounge: Month-long drive begins with benefit concert, 5 p.m. to midnight. Suggested donation: $20. Canned goods, clothing and blankets will also be accepted for the American Red Cross. The lounge will donate part of its proceeds through Oct. 18. Call 944-8436.

Friday-Saturday

A Night in Old New Orleans: Food and live music at St. Andrew's Cathedral, starting at 5:30 p.m. each day. All of the $25 ticket price goes to Katrina relief. Call 753-6578 or 524-2822.

Sunday

Kokua for Katrina: Cecilio & Kapono, Willie K & Eric Gilliom, Amy Gilliom, Inoa Ole, the Opihi Pickers and more will perform in a benefit concert, 3 p.m. to midnight at Kapono's in Aloha Tower Marketplace. Tickets are $30, available at Ticketmaster outlets, the Blaisdell box office or at Kapono's. Call 536-2161. All ages welcome until 9 p.m. From 4 to 6 p.m. the concert will be broadcast live on TV on KFVE, KGMB, KHNL, KHON, KITV, PBS and OC16. Clear Channel radio stations will also join in on the broadcast.

Monday

Chefs for Hope: Two dozen restaurants will participate in a benefit for the Salvation Army Katrina Relief Fund, 6 to 9 p.m. at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Tickets are available at Chai's Island Bistro for $150, with corporate tables for $5,000 and $10,000. Call 585-0011.

Oct. 5

Dine for America: Restaurants nationwide will contribute all or part of their sales for the day, or the sales from a particular menu item, to the American Red Cross. Participating locally are Compadres Bar & Grill, Dixie Grill, Auntie Pasto's, Shanghai Bistro, Hong Kong Harbor View, Tiki's Grill & Bar, Big City Diner, Ocean Club, Gyotaku, Hula Grill, Keoki's Paradise, Kimo's in Lahaina and Leilani's on the Beach.

Wave Waikiki: 21-and-over party, 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. Seeking entertainers and raffle sponsors. Call Flash Hansen, 941-0424.

Aloha Quilts: Hawaii Quilt Guild is collecting quilts in baby, crib, lap and twin sizes to be sent to Houston for hurricane victims. Drop off quilts at the Richards Street YWCA, 1040 Richards St., today through Oct. 12. Call 595-6434.

Market City Shopping Center: Buckets have been placed in all stores. Checks made out to the Salvation Army (with "Hurricane Katrina Relief" in the memo line) may also be dropped off at the management office, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Hawaii Pacific University: Students will staff kettles outside the downtown campus and on the Windward Hawaii Loa campus. Downtown locations will be at Bishop and King streets, King Street and Fort Street Mall, and in front of the Student Life Office, 1188 Fort Street Mall. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. downtown, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hawaii Loa through Friday.

Cheeseburger in Paradise: The restaurant chain is taking donations to purchase food. Company owners plan to begin feeding 4,000 people three meals a day this week. Send checks to Cheeseburger Events and Promotions, 2500 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu 96815. Attention: Marina Jones.
