"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIT!": Elizabeth "Bit" Harrison, center, celebrated her 21st birthday Friday at the Hawaii Prince Hotel. Kirsten Dixon, left, Kainoa Goo, Colin Miyamoto and John Tolentino were among the friends -- almost all of whom have worked with her in local theater -- who helped make the party a success. Michelle Baltazar, Ryan Sueoka, Matthew Pennaz and Andrew "A.J." Johansen also contributed to the merriment. Jimi Wheeler helped out by bringing a cooler filled with Jell-O shots. Harrison's parents decorated the suite with every mylar balloon they could find -- including this one, which represents her "big two-one" as a winning blackjack hand.

ART LOVERS: Arsenio and Susan Tejada admired a statue early Friday evening during the monthly ARTafterDARK party at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. "Havana Heat" was the theme, and a crowd of more than 1,600 people squeezed in to enjoy the music of Son Caribe, Mexican beer and Latino food by Compadres -- 80 became academy members. Arsenio and Susan had several hundred people dancing when they gave free mambo lessons.

"DONDE ESTA FIDEL (WHERE IS FIDEL)? ": David Hayakawa, left, drank Dos Equis, and Sherrie St. Germaine had a big bottle of Negra Moderna, as they enjoyed ARTafterDARK with Justin Yoshino, Kayko Tamaki and Kyle Mitsumori. Ramon Esteves and his Compadres crew worked non-stop for more than three hours serving "Cubano Quesadillas" and other Cuban-themed items.

ARTS SUPPORTERS: Donna Ribellia-Abreu welcomed Rolando Sanchez to "A Night of the Arts," a fund-raiser for the Hawaii Arts Center Saturday at Mililani Golf Course. Sanchez's band, Salsa Hawaii, closed the event with a hot set.

A BIG NIGHT: Judy Segundo met Glenn Medeiros, left, and Australian consul-general John Quinn, at the "A Night of the Arts" party while her son, American Idol finalist Jordan Segundo, was singing. It was the first time she'd met Medeiros, even though Jordan had included one of Medeiros' songs on his self-titled debut album.
