From the fireNOW in its 28th year, the "Raku Hoolaulea Annual Juried Exhibition," on display at The ARTS at Marks Garage, is the result of a weeklong event that, in the words of organizers Hawaii Craftsmen, "celebrates the mystery" of raku firing. An annual, four-day festival at Kualoa Regional Park earlier this month had novice and professional artists alike firing up their creations on kilns on the beach. Works on display at the gallery were selected by juror Roger Baumann from more than 200 submissions. The "Raku Hoolaulea Annual Juried Exhibition" runs through Saturday at The ARTS at Marks Garage, 1159 Nuuanu Ave. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. Call 521-2903 for more information.
