Royalty, celebrities add glitter
to Gucci's fashion shows

Gucci launched a double-barreled attack to flash its fall and winter collections at the Ala Moana store Saturday and the Waikiki store Sunday. Both shows had plenty of pizzazz, with celebs and royalty attending and four female and two male models posing to upbeat music by DJ Adrian. Gucci fashion show film footage was screened on a large wall in the Waikiki store. As models stood like statues on a pedestal, several guests took photos with them. Gucci's Hawaii Regional Director Sharleen Perreira and store managers Tessa Ahsing of Waikiki and Denise Avilla of Ala Moana had full staffs working to look after the many guests. Current Affairs catered. James Knight, Susan Chokachi, Korin Katzen and Frank DeVitis, Gucci's visual and special events experts, flew in from New York and Los Angeles. Susan's husband, David Chokachi, a former "Baywatch" actor, and Ingo Rademacher, who is in "General Hospital," attended the Ala Moana show. Princess Ira von Fuerstenberg attended the Waikiki show with Italian royalty Vittorio and Dialta Alliata di Montereale, who live here. The visiting princess is a jewelry designer and a former movie actress. She is a member of Fiat's Agnelli family and a former sister-in-law of fashion designer Diane von Fuerstenberg. She was romantically linked to Prince Rainier of Monaco after the death of his wife, the former Grace Kelly ...

Wie has good shots with Letterman, Sawyer, GQ

The big deal for Michelle Wie watchers so far this month is the 15-year-old golfing sensation appearing on the "Late Show with David Letterman" Monday and "Good Morning America" with Diane Sawyer yesterday. Michelle, who could easily be a fashion model, also was pictured in the men's magazine GQ this month. In Golf's 10 Commandments in the issue, Michelle is No. 10. Adam Rapoport's commandment reads: "Quit bitching about Michelle Wie playing in your tournaments. She's the most exciting star on the PGA Tour and she's not even on it. Yet." Amen!
