Police seek suspect after stabbing in Waikiki

Police are looking for a man in his 20s in connection with the stabbing of a 41-year-old man outside a liquor store on Dudoit Lane in Waikiki.

The incident happened about 7:44 a.m. yesterday after an argument in the store, police said.

Police said the two had a argument and the 41-year-old was stabbed once in the abdomen. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition, but later upgraded to stable.

A more complete description of the suspect was not available. Police said he's wanted on a second-degree attempted murder charge.

Oahu girl suspected to be on Big Island

Big Island police are looking for a 15-year-old Oahu girl reported missing from her home since July 28.

Shanell Pilialoha McGuire is believed to be on the Big Island, police said.

She is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Officer Peter Kualii at 961-2373 or 935-3311, the police non-emergency number.

Anonymous calls may be made to CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.

Motorcyclist collides with Jeep on highway

A motorcycle driven by a 24-year-old Honolulu man overturned and slid across the centerline of Kalanianaole Highway near Hanauma Bay, colliding with a red Jeep, police said. The 2003 black Yamaha motorcycle was headed towards town at about 12:20 p.m. yesterday when it collided with the 2005 Jeep driven by a 62-year-old California man.

The motorcyclist was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said speed may have been a factor and the driver was not wearing a helmet.
