The Kalihi-Palama Culture and Arts Society, Inc. presented the 30th annual Queen Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Competition yesterday at the Blaisdell Arena. Halau Hula O Hokulani, directed by kumu hula Hokulani DeRego, performed during the group hula auana portion of the competition. The competition, established in 1976, featured 23 halau and provided an opportunity for children ages 5 to 12 to demonstrate their achievements in dance.
