‘Lost’ starting
on season two

"Lost" begins filming its first episode of season two tomorrow at the Hawaii Film Studio. From small screen to print, "Lost" paperback books will be available in November, beginning with "Lost: Endangered Species," by Cathy Hapka. "The Lost Chronicles: The Official Companion Book," by Mark Cotta Vaz, for Sept. 28 release will be the official season one guide, fully illustrated and to include a behind-the-scenes look from cast members, writers and executive producer/creator J.J. Abrams. An hour-long DVD with un-aired scenes from the popular drama will be included ...

For the direct-to-video release of Disney's "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch," Tia Carrere and Jason Scott Lee reprise their movie voice roles as Nani and David Kawena, respectively. The studio will hold the DVD release event Aug. 15 at the Turtle Bay Resort with actors David Ogden Stiers (Jumba) and Kevin McDonald (Pleakly) and executives. Neither Carrere nor Lee, however, is expected to attend.

The next day, Aug. 16, Disney's ABC/Touchstone hosts the "Lost" series' season one DVD release event. Thirteen cast members will attend as well as co-creator Damon Lindelof and executive producers Brian Burke and Carlton Case ...

New Line Cinema's "Pacific Air 121," an action-horror thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson, will film at least two days on Oahu in late August ...

Joel Moffett is a new assistant professor at the University of Hawaii's Academy for Creative Media, teaching screenwriting and production. Anne Misawa moves up to full-time faculty status as an assistant professor, and she'll continue to lead ACM's production curriculum ...

KBFD and Oceanic Time Warner cable have partnered to launch Digital KBFD on channel 82. KBFD's Asian programming is in the Korean language and subtitled in English. The locally owned independent station based in Honolulu, buoyed by the success of the Korean serial dramas it broadcasts, also offers local and national news ...

And finally on a sad note, services for Hawaii-born independent filmmaker and director Kayo Hatta, best known for her award-winning film "Picture Bride," are at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Moiliili Hongwanji Temple, 902 University Ave.

Hatta, 47, drowned last Wednesday in Encinitas, Calif. ...
