Meadow Gold hosted its 52nd annual Healthy Baby Contest yesterday at Ala Moana Center. Twenty-month-old Ava Baldwin, daughter of David and Maile Baldwin, tried to gain control of her parents' digital video camera.

22-month-old Emma Leihokunani Ornellas Baron waved to family members from the stage after winning yesterday's contest. Baron won top honors out of a field of 359 contestants and received toys, prizes and a $2,500 savings bond. Pictured with her are Denise Sasaki and Emma's mother, Monica Ornellas. Her father, Staff Sgt. Michael Baron, is serving in Iraq. Second place was awarded to Trevor Lee Komatsu, and Ian Kaio Kam placed third.
