Lindsey to host Kapalua talk-story session

Authors of original lyrics including poems, pule (prayer), oli (chant), mo'olelo (history) and mele (song) are invited to share their creations at the July session of the Mai Ka Pu'uwai talk-story series at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

Filmmaker Elizabeth Kapu'uwailani Lindsey ("Then There Were None") will host the session, and 'awa will be shared with the audience as they reflect upon the creations being presented.

The complimentary open forum will take place 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday in the hotel's indoor Amphitheatre.

Other cultural programs at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, include "Sense of Place," led by Clifford Nae'ole at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; weekly "Masters of Hawaiian Slack-Key Guitar" concerts Tuesday evenings; and on Thursday evenings, "The Legend of Kaulula'au," a one-man play about a mischievous boy banished to Lanai, where he defeats that island's resident ghosts and returns home to Maui to rule.
