CRIB NOTES

Furniture boutique settles in on Hotel Street

INTO, a furniture boutique, is finding its niche in Chinatown among the hip bars, clubs and art galleries on Hotel Street. Located across from Bar 35 and Club39, proprietors Glenn Stewart and Alan Carrell's shop, which opened in mid-June, is an art gallery in and of itself with vibrant colors and an assortment of textures and shapes to delight the eyes. Candles and specialty books fit in nicely with its eclectic furniture and home accessories. But there's more. The boutique also offers items such as shoes and purses to decorate the body.

Its specialty, however, is lamps. "We have a wide assortment and aim to be the place to go for that special lamp," said Stewart.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 40 N. Hotel St. Park at the Chinatown Parking Garage off Beretania Street, past Nuuanu Avenue. Call 536-2211 for more information.
