Island halaus perform at the annual
festival at Moanalua Gardens

Rimmed in the morning sunlight, members of Halau Hula O Maiki, under the leadership of kumu hula Coline Aiu, performed. This is the 28th year of the festival, put on annually by the Moanalua Gardens Foundation to share and enlighten the public about native Hawaiian culture and arts. Halaus from around the state participate.

Gail Rodrigues, Maluihi Tawata, Kekauonohi Kali and Wendell Silva, one of the co-founders of the Prince Lot Hula Festival, placed a maile lei on the portrait of Prince Lot Kapu'aiwa. Tawata and Kali came from Hanapepe, Kauai, to pay their respects.
