Snoop Dogg headlining
event honoring U.S. troops
Controversial rapper Snoop Dogg, musicians Bif Naked and well-known comedians land in Honolulu next week for a "Bodog Salutes the Troops" charity event at the Waikiki Shell.
The events Thursday and Friday are to thank U.S. military personnel and benefit the military charity Fisher House Foundation. There will be a prize-filled Camp Bodog Celebrity "Poker with the Troops" tournament Friday at 4 p.m. at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel. A comedy show and concert will be held 7-9:30 p.m. next Saturday at the Waikiki Shell.
Performing will be comedians Colin Quinn of television shows "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn" and "Saturday Night Live," Paul Rodriguez of the movie "The Original Latin Kings of Comedy" and Wanda Sykes of the movie "Monster-in-Law" and TV show "Wanda Does It."
Hosting is Carson Daly of television shows "Last Call with Carson Daly" and "TRL."
Other celebrity appearances include Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich of TV shows "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race 7"; Jorge Garcia of TV show "Lost"; Dulè Hill of TV show "The West Wing"; Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers; Estella Warren of movies "The Cooler" and "Planet of the Apes"; Joshua Malina of TV show "The West Wing; and Shannon Elizabeth of movie "American Pie."

The events are limited to the military services that will distribute the free tickets for next Saturday night's Shell event. Announcements will be made next week by the military on how to get the tickets.
