CTA Solutions buys Ohana Technology
CTA Solutions, which provides staffing, education, network engineering and software development, has acquired local technology service provider Ohana Technology Services LLC.
The acquisition was effective June 10 but was announced Friday.
"The addition of OTS to the CTA family of companies fits well into our corporate strategy of expanding our commercial market," said Jeff Bloom, chief executive of CTA Solutions. "CTA is now truly positioned as the only technology company in Hawaii to provide a complete end-to-end solution -- from infrastructure, to staffing, to computer and professional training."
OTS, formerly known as Innovative Network Solutions, purchased the assets of Innovative Network Solutions in January in an effort to build its information technology capabilities in the defense market. Innovative Network Solutions offered an array of business and technology solutions, including residential and commercial Internet service provider services, development and computer education.
CTA, founded in 1986, said it expects a seamless transition for the more than 120 active OTS customers. All OTS employees were offered employment with CTA and no staffing changes are expected, CTA said.

Pacific Century Fellows sought
The nonprofit Fund for the Pacific Century is accepting applications for its Pacific Century Fellows Program, which allows future leaders to rub shoulders with Hawaii's elites.
The nine-month program is open to 25 Hawaii residents in their mid-20s to early 40s. Fellows are selected based on their "ability to set and achieve goals, leadership qualities, and volunteer and civic activities."
Fellows participate in a two-day retreat, then meet monthly with civic leaders for all-day seminars focusing on subjects such as the military, environment, health care and economic development. Participants are expected to follow up the program by performing a community service project. Tuition for the program, which begins in September, is $2,000. The deadline for applications is July 22. Application forms are available by calling 235-3733.
