The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Bankoh rises 4.2%
Bank of Hawaii Corp. jumped 4.2 percent in the holiday-shortened week after an analyst's upgrade helped lift the stock to the best performance in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Bankoh closed yesterday at an all-time high of $53.18.
Barnwell Industries Inc. continued its 18-month surge as it gained 2.7 percent to $66.99. The shares are up more than 323 percent since the beginning of 2004.
Central Pacific Financial Corp. rose 2.3 percent to $36.38 while Alexander & Baldwin Inc. rose 2.2 percent to an all-time high of $47.97.
