WAC unveils new logo and Web site

The Western Athletic Conference has a new logo.

"With the new membership era upon us, we felt it was important to have a graphical representation of our brand that was more in line with current times," commissioner Karl Benson said. "This new mark keeps the equity we have built over the years in the WAC brand, while also presenting the WAC in a bolder and more dynamic way."

New Mexico State and Utah State joined the WAC this year, and Rice, SMU and Tulsa departed for Conference USA.

The new logo, with a silver interior and maroon outline, replaces the old light blue and black design. The color version can be viewed at the WAC's new website -- WACsports.com.

UH's Wiktorsson takes 2 Swedish titles

University of Hawaii diver Mats Wiktorsson won the 3-meter and platform titles at the 2005 Swedish National Diving Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden, last week.

Wiktorrson won the 3-meter springboard with 612.15 points and followed it up with a winning total of 531.95 in the platform dive. He also finished in third in the 1-meter springboard.
