United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii and the Transpac Yacht Club have offered a challenge for racing enthusiasts to benefit local cerebral palsy programs.
Teams of up to 10 members will have two hours to design, build and race a boat in the Plywood Cup Challenge July 29 at Ala Moana Beach Park. They will have one hour for race planning and tactics before a race on a triangular course.
The race has been held for 14 years, and design technology has improved each year, the association said.
People can participate by sponsoring a team or forming their own crew. Space is limited to 20 teams, and all entry fees are tax-deductible.
Entry forms and race instructions are available in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format at www.transpacificyc.org.
