The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Bankoh gains
Bank of Hawaii Corp. was the only company to eke out a gain in a down week for the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index. The bank rose 0.4 percent in the week to close yesterday at $49.59.
The bank is near its 52-week high of $51.10.
The biggest loser was the parent of Hawaiian Airlines, Hawaiian Holdings Inc., which fell 14.7 percent to close yesterday at $4.35.
Nutritional products maker Cyanotech Corp. fell 5.8 percent to close just under a dollar at 97 cents.
