Customers get Lush-ous
at grand opening
of second store

Lush finally opened its doors to a second Hawaii home two weeks ago in Ala Moana. The fragrant bath and beauty supply store was bubbling with people all day Thursday, each checking out the cool mask bar -- which looks something like a salad bar but with colorful facial ingredients in containers on ice -- allowing buyers to see, sniff and try the skin-friendly products.

First-time visitor Natashalynn Ah Nee tried the Cosmetic Warrior on her oily skin while second-time visitor Ronika Ah Nee was covered in Love Lettuce for her combination skin. The masks are priced at $7.95 to $9.95 and, for freshness, must be used within three weeks. One container gives about nine applications. In case you missed it, the store hosts monthly parties featuring facials, bath bomb demos and massages.

To get in on the party, sign up at the store (RSVPs are required). The next party is scheduled for the second week of July. The store is located on the ground floor, next to the Paniolo Trading Inc. For information, call 941-7400 or connect to www.lush.com.

'Tee' time

Kudos to the friends and supporters of Taylor "Tee" Burton and her family.

The "Have a Heart for Tee" event held at Tiki's Grill & Bar on June 8 raised more than $17,000 for the brave 13-year-old who needs a third heart transplant.

If you missed the event but would still like to help the family, donations can be made to "Friends of Taylor Burton" and dropped off at any Bank of Hawaii branch until the end of August.
