at Mandarin
Fendi held a fashion show at the Kahala Mandarin's Veranda Thursday, showing attire and accessories for all seasons -- and luxurious furs. Fendi's North America President
Gianluca Flore flew in from New York for the well-organized event as did
Paige Pedersen, V.P. of communications, and
Laura Stephen, merchandising chief. Local Fendi G.M.
Patrick Gey served as emcee and
Mokai Chang was fashion coordinator. The packed crowd applauded when one of the many models strutted out in a long belted Russian sable coat. Hoku's manager
Zameer Mallal and his staff kept the crowd happy with champagne and elegant pupu. After the show, guests were invited downstairs to look over the collection and enjoy more champagne and snacks ... Later, on the Veranda,
Jimmy Borges and friends sang with the
Betty Loo Taylor Trio. Jimmy's friends included:
Augie Rey, Cathy Foy-Mahi, Guy Merola, Sherry Chock Wong and

KITV reporter Jill Kuramoto and her husband, Dave Randall, will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary by renewing wedding vows today, along with other couples, at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider. The Hawaii Loa Trio will perform a new song, "Promise Me Again," written for the hotel's group wedding vow renewal ceremony of the same name. Trio members Bobby Kahihikolo, Eddie Palama and Herb Lee Jr., have played Hawaiian music under the hotel's banyan tree for 10 years. The "Promise Me Again" vows renewal ceremony is conducted each Saturday in the Banyan Courtyard by Rev. Jim Hutcherson. It is free to the public. It starts at 7:30 p.m. ... Don Asam has been named G.M. of Ruth's Chris at Restaurant Row ...
Don't Joke with Ray Romano on the golf course

Carl Smigielski of Sandwich Isles Realty played golf with
Ray Romano at Waialae last weekend. Both have 11 handicaps. Carl won Saturday and Ray won Sunday. Carl says the TV comedy star is a long driver, slamming it about 280 yards and putts everything out. "He eats, sleeps and drinks golf and there is no joking on the course," Carl said. "But to have lunch with him and his nine writers was a real treat, with jokes flying from all over the table at Hoku's"...
