[ ISLAND HOPPING ]

ALL ISLANDS
See isles via bike

Cyclevents offers a new way for ocean cruisers to get out and explore the islands in conjunction with NCL.

At each port of call, customers will be able to discover historic plantation towns, lush rain forests, active volcanoes and more, by bike.

Cruisin' da Islands sets out from Honolulu on the Pride of Aloha en route to Kauai, the first port of call, for a spin along the South Shore, visiting Waimea Canyon, coffee country and plantation towns.

The Big Island route starts in Hilo, with a ride to Hamakua Coast rain forests. On the Kona side, cyclists will trace the Ironman route and enjoy spectacular views from Kohala Mountain Road.

The final port of call is Maui and its winding, pastoral Hana Highway. Guests will also pedal the scenic West Maui road, through ranch lands and across cliff tops. The trip winds down back in Honolulu.

The eight-day tour is scheduled for spring and fall, with the next departure on Oct. 9. The trip is priced at $695 for the cycling portion, plus the cost of the cruise. The cycling fee includes five guided full-day rides, snacks, tour guide, support vehicle and some transfers. More info can be found at the Web site www.cyclevents.com/cruisin.
