Hawaii Coalition for Dads
presents special event
at Windward Mall

Mom gets so much attention on her day; how about some equal time for dads on his day, June 19? Here are a few places ready to welcome the dear old guy. Hopefully, more establishments will get into the act as Father's Day grows nearer:

SPECIAL EVENT
June 18

» Celebrate Dads: The Hawaii Coalition for Dads presents "Celebrate Fathers Day," with festivities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Windward Mall, including entertainment by Any Kine Ohana, clowns and others, plus displays by the Hawaii Bicycling League, HCAP Head Start and the Kaneohe Family Center, among others.

There will be a concurrent celebration at Pearlridge for those on the Leeward side, with entertainment by Jesse Rivera, Country Dancers of Hawaii, Al the Magician, Hula Halau Olana, and Terry Brown and his Ukulele Kids, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be father/child look-alike contests and door prizes at both locations. For more information, call 488-0981.

» Banyan Veranda: Brunch buffet includes pan-seared salmon with scallops, seafood paella, Hawaiian snapper, dim sum, braised duck, waffle and omelet station, prime rib, desserts and more; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $42.50; $21 for ages 5 to 12. » Beachside Café: Lunch buffet features prime rib, Chinese-style mahimahi, rosemary chicken breast, peach crepes, eggs Benedict and more; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $34.50; $18 for ages 5 to 12. Dinner buffet from 5 to 9:30 p.m. features snow crab legs, assorted sushi, prime rib, sashimi, peel-and-eat shrimp and desserts. Cost is $39.50; $19.50 children. » Ocean Terrace: Lunch buffet includes prime rib, salt-and-pepper shrimp, seafood laulau, seabass, a pancake and omelet station, seafood bar, desserts and more; 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. cost is $32.50; $18 for ages 5 to 12. Call 921-4600 for reservations.

» Pikake Terrace: Dinner buffet includes steamed crab legs, shellfish potpourri, seafood salad, peel-and-eat shrimp, salad and soup bar and desserts. Plus, live Hawaiian music. Cost is $29.50; $16.25 for ages 5 to 12. Call Sheraton Princess Kaiulani at 921-4600 for reservations.

» Surf Room: Brunch buffet includes prime rib, roasted Chinese-style pig, snapper, Korean-style ribs, dim sum, an omelet station, salads, desserts and more; 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $47.50; $26.50 for ages 5 to 12. Call 921-4600 for reservations.
