Kalaeloa, a contemporary paniolo duo comprised of Taz Vegas and Les Harris, perform from 9 p.m. to midnight every Friday in June at Compadres.

Their debut album, "Let the Good Times Roll," was nominated for best island contemporary album in the 2004 Hawaii Music Awards. Vegas and Harris also traveled to China last year to represent Hawaii. Call 591-8307 for more information.

Don't bother showing up late to "The White Party," also known as "SKYLiNE's" first birthday. And be sure to heed the dress code.

"Make a little effort," advises Flash Hansen (above right), who co-promotes the twice-a-month shindig with Matty Boy Hazelgrove. "Guys have to go beyond just a white shirt ... that's not doing anything special."

Last month, the restaurant filled to capacity by 10:30 p.m. It's guaranteed to fill up quicker this weekend, so get there early!
