Chaminade University student wins furniture design awardKristi Ramia of Chaminade University was chosen as a winner in the Future Furniture Competition sponsored by Interior Design magazine. There were more than 800 entries, with students' creations judged alongside young designers. Eighteen students and designers were selected as winners. The winners participated in the first ISolini Worldwide Furniture Fair held recently in New York. ISolini is the American branch of the prestigious Italian Furniture Fair held annually in Milan.Ramia, a senior, will graduate in December 2006. Her award-winning Chaise Lounge Chair, shown above, was a project submitted in a Special Topics Furniture Design class taught last fall by Gillian Regal.
