collapses on worker

A man, about 45 years old, suffered multiple injuries after a house in Hauula collapsed on him yesterday, according to an Emergency Medical Services supervisor.

Police said the man was part of a three-man crew working on a house at 54-016 Kahikole Place.

The single-story house had been lifted to help create a two-story home. The house had been on wooden scaffolding since last year.

About 7:20 p.m., one of the support beams failed and the house caved in, briefly pinning the victim, while the other two men made it out safely, police said.

The victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.
