» Keoni DeRenne (Iolani, Arizona) has been assigned to the Yakima (Wash.) Bears' roster by the Tucson Sidewinders. This is a paper move, according to Tucson's media relations director, Landon Vincent, because Yakima is in the short-season Northwest League that does not open its season until June. "The good thing is Keoni wasn't sent to Double A, but is in extended spring training right across the street," said Vincent. "The bad thing is he only gets to play in extended spring games. I would think the next time someone gets called up (by the Arizona Diamondbacks) or someone gets injured, Keoni would be back on our roster."
