Searches fail to turn up
man missing since July

Question: What ever happened to Richard A. Enslow, who was reported missing three months after his car was found abandoned in Central Oahu?

Answer: Phil Camero, Honolulu police missing persons investigator, said the Enslow case is still open, though there have been no new developments to report.

Dole Plantation employees found the car Enslow had been driving abandoned in one of their coffee fields on July 30, but the car was kept in storage and not identified until several months later, and Enslow was not classified a missing person until Oct. 22.

Police since then have done extensive ground and air searches of the area where the car was found, including Helemano Gulch nearby, where investigators believed Enslow could have fallen. Upon searching the car Enslow had been driving, police found stolen items that were linked to a car break-in at Kaena Point on July 20.

Enslow also has four outstanding warrants for his arrest worth $11,250 and could be hiding from authorities, but Camero said there is no evidence to indicate that so far.

Enslow, 34, is described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 175 pounds, has a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes and "Shark and Dolphin" tattoos on his upper right arm. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or other aspects of this case is asked to call Camero at 529-3394.
