The walk of historic homes ends at College Hill.

Exercise and history mix well during Malama o Manoa's walking tour of historic homes in Manoa Valley on May 29 in recognition of National Historic Preservation Month. Participants will stroll, rain or shine, 1 1/2 miles through the historic districts of the valley; view more than 60 historic homes, of which 23 are on the state historic register; and visit seven of the homes for docent-guided tours. The walk ends at College Hill, home to interim University of Hawaii President David McClain, with refreshments and entertainment.

The cost to participate is $25. Log onto malamaomanoa.org or call 988-7622 to register.

Check in between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. the day of the walk at Kamanele Park, on the corner of University Avenue and Kaala Street, to pick up a name tag, tour map and information packet. Park on the street or at Mid-Pacific Institute, 2445 Kaala St.
