Punahou and Kahuku
reach final

Rebecca Fonoimoana scored four goals as Kahuku defeated Hilo 6-4 yesterday in the semifinals of HHSAA/Local Motion Girls State Water Polo Tournament at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

Gina Ahue scored both of her goals in the third period for Kahuku to help break a 3-3 halftime tie. Kaipo McKeague led the Vikings with two goals.

The Red Raiders advanced to today's championship game against Punahou at 7 p.m.

The Buffanblu got goals from eight different players as they romped Roosevelt 13-1. Kelly Samples, Kulani Jenkins, Beth Knorek and Rachel Cote scored twice apiece for Punahou, while Marissa Young had Roosevelt's only goal.

Hilo and Roosevelt will play for third place at 5:45 p.m., while Kalani will play Hawaii Prep for fifth place at 4:45 p.m. The Falcons defeated Kapolei 9-6 behind five goals from Ivy Yi, while Hawaii Prep defeated Baldwin 10-6.
