Man missing since October
believed to be alive

Answer: Family members of the 36-year-old man have put up their own Web site, on which Caravallo's sister writes about the last time people saw him.

She writes that he and a friend had jumped in the back of a third party's pickup truck on Oct. 6 and went to the store, then to the house of another male acquaintance. When questioned by Caravallo's mother, with whom Caravallo lives in Pearl City, the man whose pickup truck Caravallo was last seen in said he dropped Gilbert off at home, according to the Web site.

Police have not confirmed whether the information on the Web site is accurate, but said they might have reason to believe that he is alive.

"People have reported seeing him but we have not confirmed that," said Missing Persons Detective Jill Kaui. "The case is still open and classified as a missing person."

On April 4 police also listed Caravallo as a fugitive because he did not show up for court on Nov. 29 regarding an arrest for a weapons offense. Caravallo is described as 6 feet tall, about 225 pounds, with a heavy build, black hair, brown eyes, a mustache and a goatee.

Police said he also has two tattoos: "Gilbert C" on his back and "Wizard" on his upper right arm.
