Dining around the islands
Back to the Swiss InnFavorite dishes of the old Swiss Inn will be featured as chef Martin Wyss returns to the Plantation Cafe in the Ala Moana Hotel.The Swiss Inn Festival runs Tuesday through May 29. On the lunch and dinner menu: Trout Caprice, Wienerschnitzel and Emince de Veau Zurich Style (veal in a wine and cream sauce). Other specialties will be featured for a week at a time, such as Scallops Madagascar this week and Osso Buco next week. The Swiss Inn menu will not be available on Friday and Saturday nights, when the restaurant offers a Seafood and Prime Rib Dinner Buffet, or during Sunday brunch. Some Swiss Inn items will be incorporated into the buffets, however. Call 955-4811.
A New York affairDrew Nierporent, owner of such acclaimed restaurants as Tribeca Grill and Nobu, will cook alongside Hawaii's Sam Choy at the Gourmet Affair, the annual benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters.The dinner, May 21 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, is themed "A Bite of the Big Apple," recognizing Nierporent's New York restaurant empire.
