HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Buffanblu are dialed
in at No. 1

Oh, how discerning the panel can be.

Now in the eighth week of voting, panelists have cut the rope, so to speak. Only 12 teams received at least one vote in the Star-Bulletin Girls Basketball Top 10.

That kind of separation hasn't happened all season, but it reflects the on-court battles, particularly the ones on Oahu.

Punahou led the way with all 17 first-place votes to remain No. 1. The Buffanblu (16-1) are 7-0 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, including a comeback win over Maryknoll.

The remainder of the Top 10 was status quo. Konawaena and Kahuku led the rest of the pack, while Radford remained on the cusp. The Lady Rams (17-4) have won 21 straight in the Oahu Interscholastic Association West play.
