ISM party moves on
to Chuck’s Cellar

WITH the changes on Lewers St. in Waikiki, lots of folks are being forced to adjust their ways.

For promoters Universal Joint, that means moving their monthly "ISM" party to a new location. Starting tomorrow, they'll throw down at Chuck's Cellar in the Ohana East Hotel every first Friday of the month.

Inviting folks to "step out of the mainstream," this week's party features an open mic session, plus a combination of two popular downtown acts.

Members of the Newjass Quartet, who play at thirtyninehotel Tuesday nights, will team up with Indigo regulars Swampa ZZ to perform as the "Newja_ZZ Quartet." DJ Delve will also be there.

Doors open at 9 p.m. tomorrow for the 21-and-over crowd, and there's no cover charge or dress code ...

FOR THE 19th year in a row, a group calling themselves The Boys Bunch presents a benefit for Make-A-Wish Hawaii.

Tomorrow's "April Foolish Party" takes place from 5 p.m. to midnight at Kapono's, with entertainment by Henry Kapono and The Kingpins.

Tickets are $30 for this one, and include one free drink and heavy pupu. There will also be continuous door prize drawings.

Want to save $5 on tickets? Call 537-3118 for info ...

IT'S TIME for another shot at free smoothies from Jamba Juice. Three locations on Oahu will celebrate the launch of new energy smoothies and shots with a "Healty Happy Hour" from 3 to 6 p.m. tomorrow.

Head over to Jamba Juice in Kaneohe, Ward Village or Mililani for a free taste of the new Matcha Green Tea shot; University of Hawaii at Manoa students can visit the store on campus for a free taste between 3 and 4 p.m.

If the added energy makes you want to get up and dance, you're covered -- Power 104.3's DJ Krazy K will be spinning at the Kaneohe location, with 102.7 Da Bomb's DJ Euphorik at Ward Village and Hot 93.9's DJ Mixmaster B holding it down in Mililani ...

AT LAST check, there are still a few tickets available for Wednesday's second 3 Doors Down concert at Pipeline Cafe. If you haven't bought yours yet, consider the return of No Bare Feet to the islands as motivation to go snap some up right now.

Comprised of brothers Matt and Josh Baker, Adrian Estrella, Nelson Fisher and the single-named Thrasher, the band moved to California to tour and record its debut album. "Freedom" is due out this summer, but you'll have a chance to get a sneak preview next week.

Fans might want to check them out on Tuesday at the Wave Waikiki's "Pussycat Lounge." They'll be playing with Last in Line ...
