Darlene Gahit, 18, and Benjalynn Balanay, 17, painted a bike rack Saturday on Alakea Street. The Kailua High students are part of a program called Honolulu Hot Wheels, in which student teams earn $250 in art supplies for their school.

Laura Schneider and her daughter Emma, 18 months, looked at the Aiea Orchid Club display yesterday at the Windward Orchid Society's 26th Annual Spring Orchid Show at S.W. King Intermediate School. The display featured the Best Species and Best Cattleya winner, C. amethystoglossa, with "H&R Supreme" pictured in the foreground.
