Film shoot
aimed for July

Once location manager Kokayi Ampah finishes his upcoming scout of Big Island, Maui County and Oahu locations for the Clint Eastwood-directed war drama "Flags of Our Fathers," he'll return a week later with other production execs to take a last look at locations for the hoped-for July shoot ...

Samuel L. Jackson might be heading to Hawaii to film "Flight 121," which starts production in May. Jackson plays an FBI agent bringing a ruthless mob boss to justice. He finds a witness and takes him on a commercial flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. Trouble is, the mob boss has loaded the cargo with venomous snakes ...

Waddya know! "Lost" executive producer Brian Burk says from L.A. that the hit series definitely considered leaving Hawaii because of high costs, contradicting recent publicized quotes by ABC's production president, who said relocation was never considered.

Noted fashion photog David LaChapelle was here to do a "Lost" promo shot last Saturday, which crew described as a "very hard prep." LaChapelle says it was "the best crew I've ever worked with" ...

Web sites featuring Warner Bros.' "Superman Returns" sequel have popped up Down Under, with the University of Hawaii's Academy for Creative Media announcement to send four "Super Interns" to Australia featured on www.comics2film.com/FanFrame.php?f_id= 11954 and www.superherohype.com/news.php?id=2711.

Chris Lee, the film's executive producer, says the production likes www.bluetights.net so much that they're giving them video Weblogs on the film's progress ...

And finally, the Discovery Kids' "29 Down" castaway series wrapped production last Friday on the North Shore ...
