Visitors celebrating the Waikiki Aquarium's 101st birthday were reflected off the giant-clam exhibit that made its debut Saturday. Despite their name, seven of eight giant-clam species grow to only modest proportions - the smallest only 9 inches across. Only Tridacna gigas grows to be very large at approximately 4 feet in diameter and weighing 500 pounds. Also new at the Waikiki Aquarium are a pair of freshwater stingrays from South America.
