Untreated sewage flows from manholeAbout 1,100 gallons of untreated sewage overflowed from a manhole in Pearlridge Friday, the city reported.Roots blocking an 8-inch sewer main contributed to the overflow at 98-755 Iho Place between 6:15 and 9 p.m. Some of the overflow went into a nearby storm drain, which leads to Pearl Harbor. The state Department of Health was notified of the spill, and pollution warning signs were posted. Water sampling will be conducted, a city release said.

By Star-Bulletin staff WINDWARD OAHURunaway crane crashes down Kaneohe streetA huge construction crane rolled out of control downhill on a Kaneohe street yesterday morning, toppling onto a parked car, flipping over a driveway and landing in a yard.No serious injuries were reported in the incident, though the 37-year-old driver did get some scrapes after he bailed out of the so-called "rough-terrain crane." It's unclear what caused the crane, which was involved in a construction job on Kalanikai Place, to start rolling downhill about 9 a.m. Police said the crane landed upside down in a yard at 44-121 Kalanikai Place, after rolling over one homeowner's parked car and another's driveway.
WEST OAHUWater main break affects Pearl CityA 12-inch water main break near Waiau District Park in Pearl City left 22 homes without water for more than eight hours yesterday.The break, whose cause has not been determined, happened about 1:50 p.m. at 96-1682 Hoolauae St. It was expected to be fixed by late last night.
NEIGHBOR ISLANDSBig Island police find missing Oahu girlBig Island police found a 16-year-old girl yesterday who had been missing from her home on Oahu since March 8.Police said Jamie Delgado was found uninjured yesterday afternoon near Hualalai Ranch in Kailua-Kona. Found with her was a 16-year-old boy who had also left his Oahu home on March 8. Delgado was initially reported as a runaway but later classified by Honolulu police as a missing person.
Fast-food restaurant burns on Big IslandA Wendy's fast-food restaurant on the Big Island sustained about $5,000 in damage after a cooking fire early yesterday.The fire started about 7:24 a.m. at 78-6831 Alii Drive in Keauhou. About 10 firefighters helped extinguish the blaze, which started in the restaurant's deep fryer, by about 7:55 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
