Grant to fund
research trip
in Hiroshima

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii is accepting applications for the Goto of Hiroshima Foundation $5,000 study grant.

The grant will include a trip to Japan, where the recipient will attend the 60th Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony, to be held this year. The ceremony marks the date 60 years ago when the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

The grant will be awarded to an individual who has an interest in research involving Hiroshima and Hawaii or Japanese culture, politics, economics or language.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40 and a Hawaii resident. The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. May 6.
