HE LOVES MVT'S "CABARET": Vincent Green, second from left, celebrated with "Cabaret" cast members Elizabeth Ananji Harrison, left, director/choreographer John Rampage, Andrew Sakaguchi, Katherine L. Jones, Jeanne Herring and Yvette Garrison at the opening night post-show party at Manoa Valley Theatre on Wednesday. Sakaguchi gives a career-best performance as the Emcee. Jones, one of the Kit Kat Girls, is a seductive scene-stealer as the dancer positioned front and center in the big "Telephone Dance" number.

"IF YOU WEREN'T THERE, SHUT YOUR MOUTH": Vietnam vet Tommy D, right, played tour guide for Nicky and Barbara Capezeria in Waikiki on Tuesday. The two men met while serving with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Vietnam in 1966. Capezeria risked his life to pull the badly wounded "little rebel" to safety during a firefight when the 196th engaged NVA regulars in Operation Cedar Falls, but more than 30 years passed before he learned Tommy had survived. Paul Revere brought them together for the first time since 1967 during a "Ride to the Wall" ceremony in Washington, D.C., 2001. Tommy said he saw other soldiers get the Silver Star for doing less than Capezeria did in saving his life under heavy fire. (The quote is Tommy's advice to people who criticize his fellow Vietvets.)

"CAPTIVE" FANS: Ernst Lab Theatre box office supervisor Nicole Tessier, third from left, talked with Lurana O'Malley, her husband, Sean T.C. O'Malley and Maseeh Ganjali Saturday, after the opening of Frank Episale's politically charged staging of "The Captive." Ganjali, who played a patriotic Iraqi Arab in "The Last Outpost" last fall, will have a similar role later this spring.

LOVE TO HEAR PERCUSSION!: Percussionist Tony Ponce rocked while Arsenio The Band recorded footage for a music video at Phillip Paolo's Italian Restaurant in Restaurant Row on Saturday. The set was also a showcase for a single-monikered singer named Angie. Her reworking of "Help" as a power ballad was a highlight.
