Northwest continues Hawaii-Alaska flights

Northwest Airlines plans to bring back its seasonal Alaska-Hawaii service this summer.

The airline's current Anchorage-Maui-Honolulu service, running four times a week, will end April 3 then start up again between June 10 and Aug. 22, running three times a week.

The airline will serve the route with 224-seat Boeing 757-300 planes.

Hawaiian Air says plan is a 'hoax'

A Hawaiian Airlines reorganization plan proposed by a competing group is a "hoax" and should be disqualified, according to a motion filed late Monday by Hawaiian Airlines trustee Joshua Gotbaum, Hawaiian Airlines parent Hawaiian Holdings Inc. and investment group RC Aviation LLC.

The motion said depositions taken from Hawaiian Airlines pilot Robert Konop and individuals associated with Hawaiian Investment Partners Group LLC and the Hawaiian Reorganization Committee LLC confirm there is no financing to fund the $300 million needed for their plan for the carrier.

Northern California resident William Spencer, who controls E&M Trust and is affiliated with the Konop plan proponents, indicated in previous court documents that the group had $500 million in a bank account in Taiwan and another $500 million in Amsterdam. In a recent deposition, however, Spencer refused to answer most of the questions asked about the financing, according to the motion filed Monday.

Konop could not be reached yesterday for comment.
