A SURPRISE FOR MAHI!: Celebrating outside Mamiya Theatre after the opening of "Aida" on Friday were cast members and friends Adam Cho (Mereb), left, John Long (Zoser), Matt Tinker, Ellorin Joy Davis (Amneris), Mahi'ai Kekumu (Ramades), Destan Owens and Leihoku Pederson Ellsworth (Aida). Kekumu was surprised by the appearance of Tinker and Owens, who flew in from New York to catch his opening-night performance in the Saint Louis Players production.

DRESSING FOR 'AIDA': Saint Louis School headmaster the Rev. Allen DeLong welcomed Neva Rego to the Egyptian-themed reception that preceded the opening-night performance. Rego bought her accessories during a visit to Egypt. Saint Louis students wearing Egyptian headgear and modified loincloths escorted older guests up to the reception tent.

GREAT PARTY, LAWRENCE!: Edith Leong and Dr. Lawrence Tseu were guests of honor at the pre-show "Aida" reception. Tseu (Saint Louis '51) was honorary chairman of the event. Leong is leading the fund-raising campaign to cover the cost of sending the show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland in August.
